What We Do
Môn-SAR are a highly trained, dedicated and motivated volunteer lowland search and rescue team that provides emergency services and the community on Ynys Môn/Anglesey with specialist expertise to search for vulnerable missing people – 24/7, 365 days per year.
Môn-SAR is a Lowland Rescue™ team based on the Island of Anglesey off the coast of mainland North West Wales providing specialist land-based lowland search personnel. All members are unpaid volunteers. Môn-SAR is a registered UK charity (Reg No: 1162558); we receive no statutory funding so we’re totally dependent on public donations and fundraising to keep the team up and running.
Môn-SAR work alongside North Wales Police and the existing professional and volunteer search and rescue agencies on the Island and the North Wales mainland, such as the Coastguard, RNLI, Cave Rescue, our neighbouring Mountain Rescue Teams and SARDA Wales search dogs.
Since becoming operational in the summer of 2018, the Team has been involved with searching and rescuing a number of people in the communities of Anglesey, often late into the night and well into the morning. The Team’s volunteers have been able to help a lot of people and return them to their families.
